The Gift of Swimming and Children’s Safety Village of Central Florida co-hosted the National Drowning Prevention Awareness Kickoff. Event speakers included child safety expert Richard Schwamm; Orange County Sheriff and Dr. Phillips resident Jerry Demings; and Kevin Sherin, M.D., director of the Orange County Health Department. The kickoff also included a program that focused on survival skills for children, as well as provided information to parents to ensure their homes are safe.
