Trisha Widowfield is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office of Haliczer Pettis & Schwamm. Trish handles complex civil litigation matters, focusing her practice in the areas of medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury. She has extensive experience across the State of Florida representing individuals and families. In September 2021, Trish served as trial co-counsel, winning a $6.46M verdict for a HPS client, the largest wrongful death medical malpractice jury verdict ever reported in Volusia County, Florida history.
Trish spent the first decade of her career defending hospitals and nurses in malpractice suits. Having this past experience has afforded her the unique perspective of understanding both sides of a medical malpractice case. In addition, prior to attending law school, Trish was a claims adjuster with USAA and Gallagher Bassett.
Trish is also the Vice President of Ms. Esquire, an in-person and social media organization comprised of thousands of professionals across the country which is designed to bring people together to empower, support and provide business development opportunities. Through that group, as well as the Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL) and the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers (CFAWL), Trish is frequently invited to speak on panels and write articles on the subject of professional empowerment.
