This Privacy Policy describes how Haliczer Pettis & Schwamm, P.A. (“Firm”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you interact with our website (www.hpslegal.com). This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services, even if we provide a link to such a third-party website.  You must review the privacy policies of any third-party website to ensure that you understand their privacy practices.

The types of information we collect

Information you provide to us.  Some of the Services may include features or services that allow you to directly provide us with contact information, such as your full name and email address, and other information about you. This includes the following:

  • Contact information when you subscribe to Firm publications, such as newsletters, client alerts and other materials.
  • When you register for a webinar or a live event.

In addition to the foregoing, the Firm may analyze aggregated, de-identified data and share these analyses at our discretion, including with analytics providers to analyze the usefulness and popularity of various web pages on our site.

How we protect and store your information

We use a combination of physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect through the website.  While we use commercially-reasonable precautions to safeguard your information, we cannot and do not guarantee the security of the networks, systems, servers, devices, and databases we operate or that are operated on our behalf.

Your rights and choices

Where you have consented to our processing of your information, you may withdraw that consent at any time and opt out of further processing by following the instructions in this section. Even if you opt out, we may still collect and use certain information regarding your activities on our Sites and/or information from the advertisements on third party websites for non-interest-based advertising purposes, such as to determine the effectiveness of the advertisements.

Our website is not directed to children under the age of 13 in the U.S. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. The term “personal information” has the same meaning as set out in the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We may make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post such changes to this location, and such changes will become effective when posted.  By your continued use of our Services, you consent to the terms of the revised Policy.
