Debra Potter Klauber, a partner with Haliczer Pettis & Schwamm, oversees the Firm’s trial support and appellate work, providing guidance to the litigation team throughout the State of Florida.

Ms. Klauber is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance (1992), and Juris Doctor (1995, cum laude). She is a member of The Florida Bar, and has handled proceedings in all five of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court. She is also admitted to, and has practiced in, the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.

As the head of the firm’s trial support and appellate practice, Ms. Klauber plays a significant role in the preparation of complex motions, jury instructions and the overall strategy for each case. She supports the litigation team with insight on important legal issues and keeps the team updated on new developments in the law.

Her professional activities include active participation as a former board member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association, and an active member of the Appellate Section of the Broward County Bar Association, for whom she recently presented a seminar entitled, “Do I need an appellate lawyer before the appeal?” She previously served on the Florida Bar’s Appellate Court Rules Committee and the Civil Procedure Rules Committee, as well as several Florida Bar Grievance Committees in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. She recently joined the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the Florida Lawyer’s Network.

An alumnus of Leadership Broward (Class XX) and Women Leading Broward (Class V), Ms. Klauber has been involved in her community as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, the Women of Tomorrow (a youth mentoring organization) and the South Florida Advisory Board for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
